“Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost. Pina” di Wim Wenders: luce sui nuovi territori della terza dimensione – Marcello Zagaria – Stratagemmi 19
Pina, the first European 3D production, is also the first dance movie entirely in 3D, able to let the audience run through a sensual experience, visually overwhelming, through the discover of a surprising dimension: directly onto the middle of the stage with the legendary company among the dancers or outside with them, in and around the city of Wuppertal, the centre of Pina Bausch dance work, she a genius of the modern dance, considered as the mother of the European dance theatre. Both from the genre and technology point of views, Pina has entered into new territories that have required significant innovation efforts: a challenge that many directors are reluctant to undertake. The new 3D solutions have encouraged the creative work of the compa-ny and the director during filming. It was possible to cross new frontiers of expression, under the extraordinary work of gesture and movement of Pina Bausch dancers, trained to move beyond the physical limits of their bodies and emotions in search of intense contact with the viewer.
