Danza e architettura. Le forme del movimento – Debora Magni – Stratagemmi 27

Dance and architecture. Forms of movement.

Dance. Movement of bodies in the space. Architecture. “The masterly, correct and magnificent play of masses brought together in light” (Le Corbusier). Architecture and dance merge with each other to shape inhabited places generating new relations between bodies and space in the fabulous perpetuum mobile.  After a brief theorethical and historical background, the paper focuses on Frederic Flamand work, that moves between choreography and architecture (renowned his collaborations with Diller Scofidio and Jean Nouvel), on the cases of Laban Center in London (Herzog & de Meuron) and Julliard School Building in New York (Diller Scofidio + Renfro), ending with the acting studio Zona K in Milan (Franco Tagliabue Volontè and Ida Origgi a.k.a. If Design, featuring Pietro Bagnoli)
