The observation of the creative process of one of Europe’s master directors, Krystian Lupa, and that of several young Polish directors who draw from his influence, such as Krzysztof Warlikowski, Michał Borczuch, Łukasz Twarkowski, and Oskar Sadowski, reveals a common yet unique phenomenon that could be termed the “overexposure of the intimate”. This phenomenon emerges at the very beginning of the collaborative creation process, during the initial meeting of the artistic team in the rehearsal room, and continues through to the performance, marking the work both in substance and form.
