Sharing an Enigma. The scenic Space in Alessandro Sciarroni’s creative Process

The article aims to investigate the relationship between dancers, space of the performance and audience in the work of choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni. This kind of creation has a conceptual starting point, that is not primarily based on the expression of a theme, but rather observes physical practices, subjected to different levels of decontextualization. This operation informs the relationship with the space of the performance and with the spectator. Considering some theoretical models from the history of dance, that resonate and inspire Sciarroni’s work, the essay focuses on the creative process, to then describe and analyse some recent major steps of evolution in the artist’s choreographic writing in relation to the space of the performance.
