Tra utopia e reportage: Milo Rau e Pier Paolo Pasolini – Gianmarco Bizzarri – Stratagemmi 40

Fifty years after Pasolini’s film Appunti per un’  Orestiade africana, Milo Rau adopts the “Appunti” format to stage Aeschylus’ trilogy in the war-torn Iraqi city of Mosul. Between reportage and presentation of the possible, the Eumenides’ trial is considered by the two directors as the concrete space to discuss reality on a global level, calling to testify people directly concerned. Indeed, for both of them process means “suspension” (as Roland Barthes intended it): a dramaturgical movement that admits no hierarchy of parts nor solution to the conflict but calls the public to the extreme judgement.
