Lyrical and revolutionary, Lysistrata comes alive in the theatre workshop directed by Marco Martinelli at the University of Parma during the 2023 Fall School. A diverse group of European students gave a new voice to Aristophanes’ text, transforming the chorus into a space for encounter, listening, and collective creation. At the core is the generative power of community. Through songs, multiple languages, and physical theatre, the adaptation revealed the political and emotional relevance of the classic, o!ering participants a transformative and shared experience—among bodies, voices, and visions of the future.
